January Opening Set For Valencia, California LA Boxing Fitness Gym
Costa Mesa, CA – November 1, 2004
LA BOXING Franchise Corporation has announced plans to open a franchise in the Valencia-Saugus area in early January, 2005. The franchise was purchased on October 18, 2004, by California Fitness Holdings, LLC.
The Valencia location is the first franchise purchased by California Fitness Holdings which plans to open several more franchises in the next few years. Four successful company-owned LA BOXING gyms in Costa Mesa, Anaheim, Fullerton and Aliso Viejo, California, served as the prototype for franchising the concept. The first company-owned gym was opened in Costa Mesa, California in December, 1992.
"We are very excited to have a third franchise sale on the heels of the first location in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the second sale in Aliso Viejo, California, both purchased in the month of September, 2004," said Anthony Geisler, president of LA BOXING. Geisler further stated, "We learned a lot over the past 12 plus years since the first gym opening and are so pleased with how members have responded to each new gym opening.”
LA Boxing is a turn-key franchise with the franchisee and staff receiving full training and ongoing support. Geisler further explains, “We even source and train the salespeople in addition to recruiting professional fighters as instructors for the franchisee. Our entire staff of instructors is drawn from the professional fighting ranks but must still be trained in the LA BOXING workout system. However, 65 to 70 percent of our members are women who are interested in a cardio boxing workout and enjoying the benefits of our fitness training program.”
The LA BOXING team begins working with a franchise owner approximately 60 days before a projected opening date and continues to work closely through the first several months of operation. Training for franchise owners and managers includes a week-long stint at one of the company-owned gyms and the Company’s corporate headquarters in Costa Mesa, California. An on-site training team also helps new owners train employees to ensure a successful opening.
For LA BOXING, the people factor is the most important. "We want to make sure that as we grow we still maintain that personal touch that a lot of chains lose as they expand," Geisler says. "That''s the part that makes LA BOXING so special."
Potential LA BOXING franchisees are required to pay a $25,000 franchise fee, which is included in the $87,000 to $92,000 of capital needed to get started. Location options range from retail strip shopping centers to freestanding commercial buildings and can even be placed in office campus areas.
