HomeVestors® Becomes Corporate Sponsor for Rebuilding Together

DALLAS - (Dec. 12, 2005) - HomeVestors® of America, Inc., the company famous for its "We Buy Ugly Houses"® billboards, has become a corporate sponsor of Rebuilding Together, a Washington D.C.-based non-profit group that preserves and revitalizes houses and communities, assuring that low-income homeowners live in warmth, safety and independence. With the catastrophic damage from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, this donation comes at a time when Rebuilding Together''s resources have come into heavy demand.

HomeVestors announced the sponsorship and presented a $25,000 check to the organization during its national convention, recently held in Denver. Howard Silberstein, vice president for development and marketing for Rebuilding Together, attended to accept the check.

"Rebuilding Together is a perfect complement to HomeVestors' own mission to improve existing communities throughout the U.S.," said Dr. John Hayes, president and CEO of HomeVestors. "And like our nearly 250 franchisees across the country, Rebuilding Together is making a difference in people's lives by turning homes in need of repair into safe and attractive places."

Today, more than 24 million low-income homeowners in America are at risk of being forced from their homes because they physically or financially cannot afford to make necessary repairs. Rebuilding Together is the nation's largest organization dedicated to answering their needs.

"We are very excited about this emerging national partnership with HomeVestors," said Patricia Johnson, president and CEO of Rebuilding Together. "The significant donation of $25,000 will help Rebuilding Together continue to provide the training, education and resource development to the organization's 250 affiliates throughout the United States. We hope that this partnership will encourage HomeVestors franchisees to get involved with Rebuilding Together locations in almost 1900 cities and towns across the country. There is a lot of synergy shared between our two organizations."
