Pizza Inn Announces Expansion in China
THE COLONY, Texas, -- Pizza Inn Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:PZZI) today announced the expansion of the Pizza Inn® concept in China. The international pizza chain, recognized for serving a variety of fresh, popular traditional and specialty pizzas, recently celebrated the opening of a new location in the City of Hangzhou in the Zhejiang province as the first of a five-store agreement that will expand the Pizza Inn® chain and grow a new prototype for the China market.
Through a new development agreement with Hangzhou Restaurant Management Company Ltd., Pizza Inn has unveiled a new design -- a full-service restaurant with high-end decor and a broader menu to offer a more upscale occasion to Chinese consumers. Customers can order from a menu that includes such offerings as steak, duck, pasta, and a wide variety of western dishes in addition to a large selection of internationally-famous Pizza Inn® pizzas made from the traditional Crispy Crackery Thin Crust and New York pan-style crust.
The Company has developed the new concept over the past 12 months under the leadership of Mr. Tony Kwok, Managing Director of Asia Pacific for Pizza Inn, in order to cater to the unique tastes and service desires of the Chinese culture. The food presentation, table service and ambiance combine an upscale-dining experience with local dishes and the growing popularity of western food, raising the profile for pizza and the new Pizza Inn® format.
