Pie Five Pizza Co. Opened Yesterday in Las Colinas
THE COLONY, Texas, Pie Five Pizza Co., the fast-casual concept from Pizza Inn Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:PZZI), opened its second location yesterday in the Las Colinas neighborhood on the corner of MacArthur & Royal, at 6440 N. MacArthur Blvd., in Irving, Texas.
Fast pizza with fast expansion plans are behind the quick development of the new location that set out to win the hearts and stomachs of customers with a passion for fresh, gourmet pizza in less than five minutes, according to Charlie Morrison, president and CEO of Pizza Inn Holdings, Inc. parent company of Pie Five Pizza Co.
The Irving addition comes two days after Pizza Inn Holdings, Inc. announced a $4 million credit facility to continue expanding the concept.
On opening day, the first 50 people ate for free at the Las Colinas restaurant. Customers could order off the Pie Five menu, which offers 10 specialty pies with gourmet flavors, or chose their own individual 9-inch Crispy Thin or Classic Pan crust, sauce and topping combinations which were assembled before them and ready to enjoy in less than five minutes.
The new fast-casual concept features an industrial chic design aimed at upscale neighborhoods and offers more than five million combinations of fresh, made-to–order, customized individual pizzas.
The third Pie Five restaurant is set to open later this month in Dallas at the intersection of Knox and Central Expressway.
